Lestat's Flowers

I had read Anne Rice's book "Memnoch the Devil." Throughout the book there was a recurring image of flowers. They were a link to the past which Lestat the vampire used as a touchstone in remembrance of his life. In my piece the floor register is the prison his life has become; he is surrounded by the flowers of glass which, like Lestat himself, will never die.
